The Author Hotline
is
being developed by CW4K, or Creative Writing 4 Kids. They are the company behind a website that enables children to create and publish their own stories online. In its first year it has signed up over 2000 members and has been enthusiastically received by children, parents and teachers. In fact the response has been so encouraging that they are planning a huge expansion of its services. Embedding The Author Hotline into the site is part of that expansion...

My friend Emma makes me laugh all day, I wish I could put her on the telly!
Q: What is your most treasured possession?
Too difficult to choose one! 1. A knitted chipmunk my Nan made me when I was 4 years old. For some strange reason I named him 'Christmas Toes'! 2. A tiny pendant that my Mum gave to me with a beautiful painting of a rabbit on it. 3. An old cuckoo clock that my Dad bought for me from an auction. It was all in bits and broken when he got it but he put it all back together and now it works. The cuckoo cuckoos, ladies and men dance around in circles and it plays a lovely tune. It is beautiful!

Real life, real feelings, real people . . . all mixed in with a lot of imagination and exageration!

All of my books are autobiographical in one way or another. I'm not sure I could write about someone who I didn't identify with, it wouldn't come naturally.
