Q: What did you want to be when you were a child?
Guess what - I wanted to be a children's writer!
Q: What are you afraid of?
Q: What strange habits do you have?
Singing to myself while shopping.
Q: Do you feel younger or older than your current age?
Q: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Well I wouldn't want to meet anybody dead... oh, you mean dead now, but alive then? William Shakespeare. Alive now? Errmmm....
Q: What quality do you most admire in a person?
Can I have two? Kindness, and independence.
Q: Was there a specific moment in your life when you decide to become a writer?
Not really, although I sometimes think it was when I was ten and started writing my own Narnia stories. You can see one on my website!
Q: Where do you get your greatest ideas from?
Who knows? They kind of appear out of nowhere.
Q: Which of your own characters do you most identify with?
Peer Ulfsson in the three 'Troll' books because he always tries so hard, and Nest in 'Dark Angels', because she likes reading and she's an adventurer.
Q: What do you do to combat “writers’ block”?
I go out and do something different for a day or two, or as long as it takes.
Q: What book do you wish you had written?
'Ghost Drum' by Susan Price.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Just KEEP WRITING! Don't give up, don't be discouraged, and read as much as you possibly can. That way you'll gradually figure out how other authors do it!
